As We Approach The End...

Download My Annual Review

Estimated reading time: 4 minutes, 7 seconds

I’ve made a free resource to complement this week’s newsletter.

The Wise Annual Review features 8 simple activities to extract wisdom from this year and excel next year.

It’s nearly 2025.

Take a moment to reflect on how far you’ve come in 2024.

You’ve likely achieved more than you think.

I was wrestling with this idea after having a tough day earlier this week.

Then it dawned on me:

Fun fact: my parents have a print of this hanging in their restroom.

I wonder what this visual means in that context…

You might think that today’s visual doesn’t apply to you because you still have so much more that you want to achieve.

If that’s the case, today’s saying is for you:

“Remember how far you've come, not just how far you have to go. You are not where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be.”

Rick Warren

Pastor Rick Warren shares that perspective is important.

When we look forwards at the mountain that we still have to climb, it is important that we turn back and recognise that we’ve already achieved so much.

You have already achieved so much.

Guess what? It snowed in the UK this week!

Even though it’s a magical time of year, and it is made all the more special with a sprinkling of snowflakes, many people find winter extremely challenging.

With this season comes darker days, and it’s not uncommon for people to experience symptoms of depression, even without any formal diagnosis.

Instead of dwelling in this dark space, I wish to encourage you to stop and reflect on how far you have come this year.

I find myself juggling 3 jobs, not making enough time for exercise, wishing that I was being more present for my family, and feeling like I’m not living as God intended me to.

But as I’ve started working my way through my usual annual review, I’ve come to realise just how great this year has been.

  • I’ve become a father to the most delightful daughter

  • I’ve helped dozens of people start the life-changing habit of journaling through Journal Wiser

  • I have connected with so many of you in 1-2-1 coaching calls

  • I’ve helped visualise ideas for so many great entrepreneurs (including being published in a book in under 2 weeks time!)

  • I’ve started a new job with a phenomenal charity

  • And I’ve ultimately become wiser

It’d be easy to think that I’m not doing well because I currently feel overwhelmed, but the reality is that I have thrived in 2024.

I imagine that your year has gone better than you think too.

I encourage you to spend some time over the coming weeks to reflect on how 2024 has been for you, and what things you would like to see happen in 2025.

Now it’s your time to reflect on today’s wisdom.

Consider journaling your responses to the following questions:

  • If I could describe my year with 3 words, what would they be?

  • What are the things that I have achieved in 2024?

  • Have I completed an annual review before? If so, did I find any value in it?

Today’s resource is The Wise Annual Review!

The activities included in this PDF feature some unique visuals to help you dig deep to truly understand how you feel about such things as your relationships, where you’ve succeeded, your most memorable moments and much, much more.
