I ran a print giveaway in last week’s WISER Newsletter issue, and the time has come to congratulate the winner!

A random number generator selected your entry, and as such a fine art print is on it’s way to you!

Thank you to everyone that entered. We got lots of great feedback, and it meant a lot to read through the meaningful supportive comments too.

Would you like to see us do another giveaway next week? If so, let me know by replying to this email!

🙅‍♂️ I Can’t Do This Alone Anymore… 😔

This isn’t clickbait.

It’s true - I cannot achieve everything that I want to with Wisdom Made Easy on my own.

But before we dive into what I am going to do about this, I want to reflect on a question that we’ve all likely heard before:

🚶 What’s More Important: Journey or Destination? 📍

I don’t think this question is as straight forward as it first appears, right?

Many of us probably live life as if the destination is more important than the journey. We practice delayed gratification, but sometimes to the detriment of our enjoyment.

  • “I’ll be happy when I’m married”

  • “Everything will be fine when I own a house”

  • “I just need to get this promotion, then I can be content”

But when we ask people, most people would say the journey is more important. In fact, I asked you all on Twitter, and this was your response:

Here it is! The results show that 87.3% of people said that the journey is more important than destination.

This would suggest that how you get somewhere is more important than the somewhere itself.

And I agree! If I were to have voted on this poll, I would’ve said the journey is more important too.

But what if there was a third option?

I heard this question referenced on Colin and Samir’s YouTube channel and it took me back. Their discussion with Yes Theory my answer to this question and ultimately my approach to Wisdom Made Easy.

In it, there’s a segment where Yes Theory share an interaction that they had in Svalbard. You can find that segment here.

Essentially Thomas is sharing that he believes that it’s all about the journey, because if you enjoy the journey, then you’ll enjoy the destination, but then Ammar comes out with:

“Wait for it… It’s neither - it’s about the company.” - Ammar Kandil

You can find the full video here:

🫂 Cherish the Company that Journey with you. 🫂

You can be on an unpleasant journey, but it can still be an enjoyable and worthwhile journey if you’re with the right company.

Similarly, you can be at the most amazing destination, but if you have no one there to experience it with, then it can be truly miserable.

Before I encourage you to reflect on a few questions about how adding company could make your journey more enjoyable, I thought I’d share what this means for me and Wisdom Made Easy moving forwards.

I am so pleased with how Wisdom Made Easy have gone since starting it in May 2022. Being able to connect with you on a daily basis as we get wiser together is such a blessing.

But Wisdom Made Easy was never meant to just be me. I would much rather build something as part of a team than be a solopreneur.

And so today, as we reflect on the importance of having company on the journey to your destination, I’m excited to share that Wisdom Made Easy is expanding!

That’s right! I now have a business partner on this wonderful mission, and I cannot wait for you to meet them!

I cannot wait We cannot wait for this next season. We have high hopes for the rest of this year. We are excited to get wiser with you.

❓ Questions to ask yourself:

  • What do you think is most important: the journey, the destination or the company?

  • Do the people that you are currently journeying with enhance your experience?

  • Are there other people that you could bring along on your journey?

  • What would it look like if you voiced your appreciation for those that are journeying with you?

✍️ Consider journalling through the above questions yourself.

💬 Also, if you want to chat about this, email or DM us! We’d love to hear from you!

Recommendations

It’s that time again! A couple of recommendations to get you thinking!

1️⃣ My first recommendation is The Minimalists’ book Love People, Use Things.

I wouldn’t describe myself as a minimalist per se, but I can testify to many of the benefits they reference by adopting minimalist practices.

I did a Twitter thread about this in January 2023 that can be found here.

2️⃣ My second recommendation is Jay Shetty’s latest appearance on The Diary of a CEO podcast.

In this episode, Jay speaks a bit about his life and transition from being a monk, but that’s not why I’m recommending it.

I wouldn’t say that I agree with all the ideologies shared in this video, but I think there are some great principles shared about choosing love and having healthy relationships.

I suspect it’ll be a difficult listen for many.
