If You’re Reading This, It Can Only Mean 1 Thing…

The Thing That Separates the Many From the Few

I am unwell.

Yep, some form of illness has taken me down to the point where I don’t feel well enough to write a newsletter issue this week.

I am getting to understand the true meaning of this visual:

But instead of wallowing in how ill I am probably feeling, today gives me a great opportunity to speak about the wise act of…

🗒️ Preparation!

Obviously you’re still receiving a newsletter this week, so what gives?!

As I write this, it’s November 2023!

Maybe you’re reading this in December 2023, or some time in 2024.

The reality is that I am preparing for when I am unable to write a newsletter.

I’m doing the work upfront when I am able to; making the most of the resources currently available to me.

Why?

“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”
- Benjamin Franklin

The reality is that I could afford to have a week off from sending a newsletter, but my goals for Wisdom Made Easy are simple:

  • To get wiser

  • To encourage you to get wiser

And if all it takes to keep me from missing a week is a little bit of preparation, that seems like a worthwhile price, right?

🚀 Things Never Turn Out As Planned

The reality is that even when you plan and prepare, things won’t turn out as planned.

I’m learning that right now.

Can you relate to this visual?

You set out a plan, and something gets in the way or knocks you off course.

The illness that I am currently experiencing is trying to prevent me from turning up to encourage you to live wisely.

But because I have a clear goal and direction, I’m still turning up!

Preparation can minimize the impact of of the things that try to prevent you from making progress.

That’s why getting clear on your direction is so important.

It helps you identify what your non-negotiables and put things in place to prevent these things from derailing you as much as possible.

🟢 Be One of the Few

One of the reasons why I believe in this so much is that I believe that preparation can be what separates you from everyone else.

Do you want to be part of the many, the some or the few?

Preparation is one of the many ingredients that separate the few from the many.

There are not many people that turn up at least 6 days each week to share a reflection to encourage you to get wiser, even when they’re unwell.

Find the way that you can separate yourself from everyone else through preparation.

✍️ Journal Prompts

• What can you do to be more prepared?
• How can you stop the unexpected things from derailing you?
• What is the thing that separate you from the many?

Consider journaling through the above questions yourself.
